Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
A rather infrequent hobby occurrence is the opportunity to secure the key card in the 1924-25 set of ten issued by Winnipeg’s Holland Creameries, with extremely low numbers on the PSA Population Report, (just 105 total cards and only 16 of Frank Frederickson), confirming the scarcity of the obscure cards. A contributing factor to the scarcity is the fact that a complete 10-card set, brought in person to the company, would entitle the owner to either a brick of ice cream or three "Holland Banquets" as mentioned on the card backs. Hall-of-Famer Frederickson was a high-scoring center with the Victoria Cougars at the time and would help his squad to the Stanley Cup in the spring of 1925. This example of card #5 has multiple light creases which however do not affect the Winnipeg native’s image and has been graded FR 1.5 by PSA. Please note that this treasure is of the non-redeemed variety and is ready to sweeten an important pre-war collection.
