Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
The great Eddie Shore, still(!) the only defenceman to ever win the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player four times, is a great way to end off O-Pee-Chee’s 100-card set from 1939-40. Eddie actually ended off his legendary Boston Bruins career during the ’39-40 season, being traded to the New York Americans in January. This example of card #100 has been examined and slabbed EX 5 by PSA, with the company’s famous Population Report revealing that just two other similar Shore cards have ever been graded higher at PSA than this Pop-4 specimen. Since PSA started up, there have been 15 Shores to land on/at the PSA shore/door.
