Another challenging set that will tempt pre-war collectors is O-Pee-Chee's relatively small 1935-36 issue of 24 cards, with the numbering a continuation from OPC's initial two sets of previous years. With a dandy array of background colors, this is "The Number One Finest Set of All-Time" out of the four 100% complete sets which have been registered at PSA over the years. With a marvelous GPA of 6.13, the group boasts six cards which are Pop-1 PSA chart-toppers. Leading the way is a trio of NM-MT 8 cards picturing Toronto Maple Leaf players and which are among the just ten cards (all players combined - 470 total submissions as of August, 2013) to earn such lofty recognition since PSA began examining and grading cards. With such bragging rights are #84-Nick Metz RC, 85-Bill Thoms and 90-Buzz Boll, with 81-Marty Barry and 95-Paul Haynes in NM 7 holders and also alone at the head of their respective "lines" on the PSA Population Report, the same as an EX-MT 6 rookie card of 93-Art Coulter. Meanwhile, 86-Hec Kilrea is a NM 7 Pop-2 with none higher. Also meriting NM 7 status are 75-Russ Blinco RC, 77-Herb Cain RC, 78-Gus Marker RC and 92-Roger Jenkins RC. The set's key rookie card, that of Hall-of-Famer Lynn Patrick, is an EX 5. The grades of all cards can be viewed at PSA and are another fantastic "Simgin" entry, the Hall of Fame-caliber likes of which will instantly fill a void in a high grade vintage hockey card shrine.
