Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
A riveting image of hockey immortal Lester Patrick is offered on this delectable hockey card, originally discovered over one hundred years ago in a pack of cigarettes. Preserved in fabulous EX-MT 6 condition, it is one of the nicest such Patrick cards ever to have been examined and encapsulated by PSA. The Pop-3 is edged on the PSA Population Report by just two other similar copies; a NM 7 and an EX-MT+ 6.5. A star defenceman at the time, Lester, along with his brother Frank, had moved west and had started up the Pacific Coast Hockey Association in 1911-12, with Lester toiling for the Victoria Aristocrats, winners of the PCHA championship the season this card was issued.
