Guy! Guy! Guy! Lafleur lived up to his billing as the Montreal Canadiens’ next great superstar after he was chosen first overall in the 1971 NHL draft. The Flower took a few years to bloom with the Habs but the breakthrough was more than worth the wait for Montreal fans as he became the league’s dominant superstar while leading the Canadiens to five Stanley Cups – including four in a row from 1976-79! Guy’s magnificent autograph is displayed on the two pieces of offered here which evoke his heyday with the Habs and honor the teams that he played for on the way to the Hall of Fame. Guy has signed in pencil in the middle of the margin at the bottom of a fabulous framed print depicting him in the uniforms of the Quebec Aces, Quebec Remparts, Canadiens, New York Rangers and Quebec Nordiques. This limited edition lithograph, signed by artist Michel Lapensee, has the “E.A. 7/100” (artist’s proof in French) notation. Approximately 23x17, it is displayed in a tasteful white matte and mounted in a 31 1/2" x 25” black frame. Also included here is an autographed Lafleur #10 Montreal Canadiens jersey. Guy has signed vertically in blue marker on the right side of the “0” on his retired number on the back of this red Canadiens jersey, a size L by Reebok. A Classic Auctions holofoil affixed to the bottom of the signed number corresponds to the one on the COA that accompanies this signed jersey. A Classic Auctions LOA accompanies this lot.
