"Steamer" Maxwell and Cy Denneny. Nine of these deceased HOFers have signed on lined cards, including Jack Ruttan (inducted 1962, deceased 1973), who signed “With best regards, Jack Ruttan”. Frank "Moose" Goheen (inducted 1953, deceased 1979), wrote down his address at the time and a short note explaining he was in Florida, with “Sincerely, Frank (Moose) Goheen”. Red Dutton (inducted 1958, deceased 1987), talks about being on vacation and signed “Red Dutton”. Bullet Joe Simpson (inducted 1962, deceased 1973) signed his card as “Best Wished, Bullet Joe Simpson, Edmonton Eskimos, N.Y. Americans”. Billy McGimsie (inducted 1962, deceased 1968) signed “W.G. McGimsie”. Harry "Punch" Broadbent (inducted 1962, deceased 1971) signed “Harry "Punch" Broadbent” and included a rundown of his hockey career. Samuel Russell Crawford (inducted 1962, deceased 1971), signed “Samuel Russell Crawford” along with his address in Prince Albert, Sask. Fred Maxwell (inducted 1962, deceased 1975), signed “elected to Hockey Hall of Fame 1962. F. G. "Steamer" Maxwell”. Cy Denneny (inducted 1959, deceased 1970) wrote “Cyril "Cy" Denneny” and filled the card with his teams and years. And on a plain 3” x 5” card, Barney Stanley (inducted 1962, deceased 1971) wrote “Best wishes Barney Stanley”. Eight of the cards were signed in blue ink, while Jack Ruttan’s was signed in a brighter different shade of blue, and Moose Goheen’s was signed in black ink. All cards are in excellent condition, and to note is a very small mark on both Denneny’s and Dutton’s cards. Just a wonderful batch of signatures from old-time greats.
