Simply an outstanding example of extremely vintage skates dating back to more than 150 years ago, when folks strapped these on and took to the lakes and ponds for fun and exercise, or went Sunday courting on a clear winter’s day. Manufactured in 1860 by B. Stetson of Uxbridge, Mass., these slim beauties with the brass foot holders and steel blades measure just over 10 inches from heel to toe, with the leather straps remaining perfectly intact except for one heel strap which has come apart. The steel blades show natural aging and some rust, and the sensational brass boots are in great condition save for natural tarnish occurred over the many years. These wonderful skates have a key wind adjustment mechanism, although the key is long gone. Just an astonishing pair of early ice skates.
