Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
Absolutely magnificent Spalding one-piece hockey stick from the dawn of the 20th century displays the famous sporting goods manufacturer's stamped logo on one side of its splendid blade. This antique beauty would probably stand up to a game today, it remains in such good shape! There are small cracks on the side of the heel opposite the Spalding stamp. Nice wide shaft and blade on this solid slab of wood fashioned and crafted into an early example of the stick that has remained essentially the same in shape ever since. Measuring about 53" inches from the tip of the blade's toe to the top of the shaft, this is a beautiful example of a 1900s Spalding one-piece hockey stick that is all ready for display in a proper setting.
