Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
The St. Louis Blues began their first NHL season with a tie and a loss at home, before travelling to Pittsburgh for their first ever road game, against the Penguins at The Igloo on Saturday, October 14, 1967. The result was the first win in franchise history, a 4-2 victory that avenged their loss to the Penguins at St. Louis a night earlier. After a scoreless 1st period, Jim Roberts and Terry Crisp both beat Hank Bassen in the Pittsburgh goal to give the Blues a 2-0 lead after two. The Penguins' Art Stratton and Andy Bathgate would then score two quick goals to start the 3rd period before Larry Keenan notched the eventual game winner for St. Louis. Goalie Seth Martin went the distance in the Blues net, making 29 saves. This complete program from that memorable evening in Blues history is in unmarked VG/EX condition.
