Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
The Boston Bruins were entering just their third year of existence when they produced the team's first ever yearbook prior to the 1926-27 season. A very scarce item to begin with, the offered example may well be the finest copy extant. Its pages have yellowed slightly, but it is otherwise in pristine near mint condition, with crisp cardboard covers. Inside are vintage photos and profiles for Manager Art Ross and 15 players, including captain Sprague Cleghorn, Harry Oliver, Lionel Hitchman and NHL rookie Eddie Shore. Boston would finish second in their division in '26-27, making the playoffs for the first time in franchise history and reaching the Stanley Cup Finals, before losing in four games to the Ottawa Senators. We are delighted to offer this wonderful 85 year old piece of Bruins history, in unbeatable condition.
