Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/5/2013
This giant hard bound scrapbook contains 80 pages of mostly Chicago newspaper clippings covering two of the most eventful back-to-back seasons in the long history of the Blackhawks - 1960-61 and 1961-62. Among the highlights included are the Hawks' ouster of the defending five-in-a-row Cup champion Canadiens in the first round of the 1961 playoffs, followed by their first Stanley Cup win since 1938 in a six game Final with Detroit; Bobby Hull's successful season long pursuit of 50 goals the following year, culminating in the scoring title; and Chicago's return to the Finals against Toronto. Neatly put together, with near mint covers and EX/NM pages, this will delight both Blackhawk fans and hockey historians alike.
