Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

Despite all of the many accomplishments, highlights and awards received during his all too short NHL career, Bobby Orr will always be remembered most for one goal, perhaps the most famous goal in NHL history. That occurred on the evening of May 10, 1970 at the Boston Gardens, as the Bruins faced the St. Louis Blues in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Despite trailing Boston three games to none, the feisty expansion Blues refused to lay down, eventually forcing the game into overtime. Just forty seconds in, Orr took a corner pass from Derek Sanderson and simultaneously beat Blues goalie Glenn Hall while being upended by Blues defenseman Noel Picard. The image of Orr flying through the air, arms raised in victory, is still likely the most recognizable hockey photo of all time. Here are both a complete program and a scarce ticket stub from that memorable game, with the program in nice EX/NM condition (the OT win has been noted in pencil at the bottom of the cover), while the ticket stub is in like-new near mint shape. A must-have for Bobby Orr and Stanley Cup collectors alike.
