Great team repairs on Bob McGill's photo-matched 1981-82 Maple Leafs game-worn rookie season jersey. The specific vertical fold mark in the longest part of the white twill "4" sewn on the right sleeve matches clearly in a photo of McGill in action against Edmonton at Maple Leaf Gardens. McGill's game-worn jersey has at least 15 team repairs and evidence of a former nameplate with a patch with repairs inside behind the nameplate. Measures out to a size 48 with Maska tagging hanging on in the back of th neck. Customized and reinforced loop-style fight strap with plastic clasp has an added patch sewn inside the jersey with stitching through the bottom of the blue twill "4" sewn on the back. Comes with a Classic Auctions LOA. The fold mark in the “4” on the right sleeve is also seen in another photo but not clearly enough for a definitive match.
The Maple Leafs crest sewn on the front has a thick brighter blue thread outline inside the stitching with a bigger gap on the top left side of the leaf than on the right side which is visible in another action photo of Gill.
There are six team repairs on the right sleeve, three more sewing fixes on the left sleeve, one on the left front tail, a total of six along the hem seam at each hip, including three on the left and three on the right, two on the left rear tail, and one on the left hip at the very bottom.
Maska label in the back of the neck is torn in the middle and hangs loose where the stitching on the right end has let go. Washed out laundry instruction flag tag also remains.
More game wear shows in board burns on the sleeves, with light brown stains under the left arm, a round light brown stain on the left back to the left of the number “4” and a few other light brown stains on the sleeves.
This gamer was possibly also worn by Normand Aubin, who wore #4 in training camp and possibly early in the season.
