It was one of the most thrilling Stanley Cup finals ever, one that broke the hearts of Vancouver Canucks fans but one that instilled joy beyond words for long-suffering New York Rangers fans, fans who had waited 54 years to see their boys finally capture the big prize once again. The Rangers had stunned the Canucks and their fans with a game seven 3-2 victory, and from the spoils of victory in the Big Apple came the cherished Stanley Cup ring, the first since 1940. Offered is a salesman's sample ring from that historic time, crafted by world-renown Balfour, with all the correct manufacturer markings stamped inside (LGB, 10K), plus the Balfour sample number and a circled "1940" with a slash going through it. This size 9 gold weighs about 42 grams, with the tableau of the ring featuring zirconia's. Also to note is that 99% of sample rings aren't made of gold but this beauty, in pristine condition, is.
