The 23 diamonds displayed in the CH logo on the tableau of this stunning 10-karat gold ring commemorate the Montreal Canadiens' 23rd Stanley Cup title in 1985-86. With an approximate weight of 35 grams, this substantial championship bauble is the one that was presented to Habs scout Jean-Claude Tremblay, who won five Cups as an All-Star defenseman with Montreal in the 1960s and early-1970s. Rookie goalie Patrick Roy won the first of his record three Conn Smythe Trophies and Bobby Smith delivered the Cup winner in Calgary in a five-game final win over the Flames in the spring of 1986. The dazzling team logo on the tableau, filled with one real diamond for each of the Habs' Stanley Cup wins to that point, is surrounded by "Coupe Stanley Cup Champions 1986" around the bezel. The Stanley Cup engraved with "23" sits on the left shank along with "Canadiens" across the top and the results of the Habs' four playoff series wins over the Bruins, Whalers, Rangers and Flames. "J.C. Tremblay" appears in raised gold across the top of the right shank with the CH logo and "1986" below. Tremblay became the Canadiens' chief European scout in 1985. He gifted this size 12 ring about a week or so before he died of cancer on December 7, 1994 to a friend, who has had it in his possession ever since. Beautifully preserved with a small dent on the right edge of the right shank that does not diminish this awesome Canadiens Stanley Cup ring's display.
