Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2013

It will be a long time, if ever, before any player other than Patrick Roy can have a trophy like this. Magnificent Conn Smythe Trophy represents each of St. Patrick's record three Stanley Cup playoff MVP titles. A 20-year-old Montreal Canadiens rookie when he won his first Conn Smythe in 1986, Roy led the Habs to an astounding 10 overtime wins in 1993 and joined the elite company of Bobby Orr, Bernie Parent, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux as the only two-time playoff MVPs. Three years later Roy won his third Stanley Cup with Colorado and he was back on top of the hockey world for a fourth time with the Avalanche in 2001 when he became the first player ever to claim the Conn Smythe three times. A spectacular replica made at Roy's request for display purposes by Boffey, this trophy is similar in every detail to the ones he received back in the day. It has a special plaque on the base that indicates the years and teams with whom Patrick won the trophy, which stands a majestic 14 1/2" at the top of the shiny maple leaf. The "Fond d'etudes des Remparts de Quebec" will receive a portion of the proceeds of the sale of this unique trophy. Comes with Patrick Roy's signed LOA who also nicely signed the bottom of the trophy's base. [red] Addendum; Also included is an 8" x 10" signed photo of Patrick Roy with seven of his trophies offered in the auction including this one.[/red]
