The Montreal Canadiens' 1992-93 Stanley Cup win is among the richest in lore in NHL history. Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy bounced back from losing the first two games of the playoffs in his native Quebec City and the Habs reeled off a record-tying 11 straight wins against the Nordiques, Sabres and Islanders, seven of them in overtime! The heroics continued in the finals against Wayne Gretzky's L.A. Kings as Montreal won Games 2, 3 and 4 to make it 10 consecutive overtime victories before closing out the series with the final Stanley Cup won at the Montreal Forum, the Habs' 24th overall. Roy, who won his second Conn Smythe Trophy, had this shimmering Cup replica made for display purposes by Boffey. Similar in every detail to the Cup trophy Roy received back in the day, it stands 13" tall with "Club de Hockey Canadien 1992-93" engraved on the front of the barrel and the names of GM Savard, coach Demers and executives Beliveau and Lemaire among the staff below. Three columns at the bottom list all of the players, including fellow HOFer Denis Savard, captain Guy Carbonneau, and the likes of Muller, Damphousse, Bellows, LeClair, Desjardins, Schneider, Odelein, Brisebois, Keane, Lebeau, Brunet, Dionne, DiPietro, Leeman, Daigneault, Ramage and Haller. Part of the proceeds of the sale of this item will go towards the "Fond d'etudes des Remparts de Quebec". Comes with Patrick Roy's signed LOA who also signed the bottom of the trophy's base. [red] Addendum; Also included is an 8" x 10" signed photo of Patrick Roy with seven of his trophies offered in the auction including this one.[/red]
