Rookie defenceman Ed Van Impe's Black Hawks NHL Champions 1966-67 14-karat gold medallion commemorates Chicago's first ever first-place finish in 41 seasons in the league. The 25-year-old defenceman finished runner-up to Calder Trophy winner Bobby Orr as the Black Hawks went 41-17-12 for 94 points in the last Original Six season, 17 points ahead of the Montreal Canadiens and 19 ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The medallion weighs about seven grams and measures 1 1/8" in diameter with the "14K" stamp on the bottom of the front. Comes with Ed Van Impe's signed LOA. Colourful Black Hawks logo in relief with detailed enamel paint is applied to the front of the medallion with “NHL CHAMPIONS 1966-67” engraved in an arc around the top. Van Impe’s jersey number “2” is affixed in relief to the reverse. A braided gold band encircles the outer edge with a clasp at the top.
