Russian goalie Evgeni Nabokov's amazing game-worn goalie mask is from his 2000-01 Calder Trophy rookie season with the San Jose Sharks. Nabokov went 32-21-7 in 66 games with six shutouts, a 2.19 goals-against-average and .915 save percentage to beat out Tampa Bay's Brad Richards for rookie-of-the year honors. Game wear on this photo-matched rookie-season beauty includes a huge chip on the left side of the forehead. The mask is signed by Gary Warwick inside the right ear in gold paint pen with more notations there, on the chin and inside the left ear. The Sharks' "X" 10th anniversary logo is displayed on the painted back plate with "Nabby" spelled out across the bottom and Warwick straps still in place. All of the original padding is in place, including the Velcro backed removable sweatband across the forehead. A fantastic find for your goalie mask display! Painted details on the lower front section of the mask, including the shark's teeths and the small white dots, matches-up perfectly to a Getty image photo (53130543). Warwick Custom Mask Inc. sticker with the company’s Port Huron, Mich., address is inside the right ear. There are two red saferty stickers inside the mask as well. “E. Nabokov, Pro Style Titanium Pro Cage. Shell #8 810 984330 San Jose Sharks 2000-2001” is handwritten in gold paint pen inside the back of the left ear.
