Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
A great addition to any collection, these 7 5/8” x 9 7/8” first and second generation images from the 1930s and 1940s are highlighted by Earl Seibert. His 1963 HOF induction made him and his father the first father-son inductees. Earl was involved in one of hockey’s great tragedies; while he and Howie Morenz were chasing a puck, Morenz shattered his leg falling into the boards and died six weeks later. But Seibert should be remembered as the first player to routinely wear a helmet. Front and back have each player's name handwritten (not signed by the players). All photos have some stains on back, some visible through front, but are free of any significant folds or creases.
This lot includes the following photos: Earl Seibert – HOF, Doc Romnes, Vic Ripley, Percy Jackson, Jim Drummond, Tom Dewar, Bob Dill, Art Strobel, Bill Gooden.
