Historical Hockey Memorabilia Winter 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/22/2012
Classic photograph by Montreal's famous Rice Studios captures the 1930-31 Canadiens, the first Habs team to win back-to-back Stanley Cup championship. They did it in exciting come-from-behind fashion too, winning games four and five of the best-of-five final against the BlackHawks. Morenz and brother-in-arms Aurele Joliat are standing on each side of legendary goaltender George Hainsworth here, with Gagnon, Leduc, Lepine, Mondou, Larochelle, the Mantha brothers, coach Cecil Hart and Leo Dandurand also beaming proudly. Original photo measures 2 1/4" x 9 5/8", has rounded corners and light defects to its edges but overall remains in excellent condition.
