This wondrous souvenir represents Jacques Lemaire's first of eight Stanley Cup victories in 12 seasons with the Montreal Canadiens. Lemaire capped his 1967-68 rookie campaign with 13 points in 13 playoff games as the Habs won their third Stanley Cup in four seasons. The Canadiens swept the St. Louis Blues in the first final of the expansion era, the last one at the Montreal Forum prior to its extensive 1968 renovation. J.C. Tremblay had the distinction of scoring the Cup-winning goal in the last hurrah for Toe Blake, who retired after winning his eighth Cup in 13 seasons behind the bench. The silver-plated trophy, which has acquired a golden patina, displays the names of Lemaire and fellow HOFers Beliveau, Richard, Cournoyer, Duff, Laperriere, Worsley, Savard, Blake, GM Sam Pollock and owner Hartland Molson engraved on its barrel. This remarkable trophy has a small ding on the bell above where the team name is engraved on the barrel, which has significant silver loss in the middle of the engraved names as well as on the bowl. The trophy could be re-silvered by the winning bidder, if so desired. The green felt bottom is autographed by Jacques Lemaire, whose signed letter of authenticity will be included with this tempting keepsake.
