Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
Vintage knit set of stripes worn by an on-ice official for the International Ice Hockey Federation. This 1970s-era sweater displays the blue and gold IIHF crest on the chest and has the Gerry Cosby tag in the collar with a washing instructions label below and a size 44 fly tag off to one side. Each arm sports a heavy knit orange band identifying this example as one worn by the referee and not a linesman. A crudely-stitched nameplate runs across the back with room for four letters, only a single "R" remains. The shirt shows signs of wear and washing but it has been preserved in excellent condition, apart from the above-mentioned plate issue.
