Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction March 2011
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/29/2011
This formidable trophy from the Danbury Mint resembles the personal Stanley Cups presented annually to each member of the Cup-winning team. "Carolina Hurricanes 2005-06" is engraved on the front of the barrel, the only team on the bottom band. The four barrels above it have the names of the winning teams starting with Detroit in 1954 and on through Tampa Bay in 2004, while the names of earlier winners appear on the upper sections and bowl. A plaque attached to the black base reads "Carolina Hurricanes 2006 Stanley Cup Champions." A great way to commemorate the Hurricanes' first Stanley Cup and a great history lesson checking out each year's winners! Standing just over a foot high, the trophy is in mint condition and makes for a marvelous display piece. In its original box with a Danbury Mint COA.
