Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Darling durene worn by NHL and WHA regular Gordie Roberts during his time in the World Hockey Association with the New England Whalers. Back has the "G. Roberts" on the back to distinguish Gordie from Doug Roberts who also played with the team in 1975-76 and 1976-77. The jersey is tagged in the collar by Wilson in size 48 and has a garter-style fightstrap sewn into the tail. Loads of pilling inside matches great game use on the outside including numerous stick marks and scuffs, small material runs, a few unrepaired holes and one nice stitched team repair. Everything is sewn-on including the individually-applied letters sewn directly onto the shirt above the back number "7". These are getting harder to find! [red] Addendum; The jersey is actually from the 1978-79 season. The indication of that is the strip pattern along the bottom of the jersey where green can be seen between the gold and the white stripes.[/red]
