Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
Valery Kharlamov is a legend of Soviet hockey. He was an idol of several generations of Soviet players and fans and he was definitely one of the most talented players in the history of the game. An auto accident claimed the Hall-of-Famer's life back in 1981, making his signature a toughie and the example that graces the shaft of this game used Koho 221 is a peach! "Harlamov" is stamped on the front in bold black lettering and the small white cloth tape knob sits at the end of the handle. Five wraps of black tape cover the forward end of the blade and this one shows great game use with just a very slight chip at the toe. Obtained back in the Seventies by a Russian woman living in New York City and who got to "hang out" with several of the Soviet hockey players when they traveled to the United States.
