Stan Mikita's game-used CCM Tacks from the early 1970s exhibit really nice game wear throughout. Team repairs to the front of both skates and numerous scuffs and marks from game use only enhance the appeal of these Mikita gamers as display items for a Black Hawks/Hall of Fame collection. Stan amassed 541 goals and 926 assists for 1,467 points over the course of his 22-year career with the Black Hawks, which ranks 14th on the all-time NHL scoring list through the end of the 2009-10 season. He appeared in Stanley Cup finals with Hawks in 1971 and 1973, roughly the era these beauties saw active duty. Gifted by Stan to the father-in-law of our consigner, these game-used Tacks show wear on the back of the leather uppers at the rear of the boot from where Mikita placed his tape. White vinyl "21" decals representing Stan's retired numbers remain on the outside of each boot. A pale black marker "3" or "23" is written on the bottom of the sole of both skates. To note are vintage bands of white cloth tape applied to protect each steel skate blade. A letter of provenance will accompany this amazing pair of skates worn by Black Hawks legend Stan Mikita.
