Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
A 1934-35 Boston Bruins season ticket letter signed by Art Ross and a pair of unused tickets to a Bruins-Maple Leafs game at Boston Garden from the 1950-51 season are highlights of this remarkable hockey memorabilia lot. The deceased Hall of Famer's flowing fountain pen signature appears at the bottom of a season ticket letter on yellow "Boston Professional Hockey Association Inc." letterhead featuring an illustration of a bear perched on Boston Garden. The letter comes with its original "Bruins" envelope with an October 1, 1934 Boston postmark. Two complete and intact Boston Gardens tickets for the Bruins' November 19, 1950 game against Toronto remain in near-mint condition and come with their original envelope with the Bruins 1950-51 home schedule printed on the reverse. A handwritten letter on Mrs. Arthur Ross' letterhead comes with its original envelope with a 1941 postmark. Pencil notes to "Uncle Arthur" are included among two more original pieces of personal correspondence referring to Ross.
