Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction November 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 11/16/2010
The powerful New York Rangers teams of the early 1970s are evoked with this trio of vintage game-used sticks used respectively by three members of the Hockey Hall of Fame who starred for the Blueshirts: Jean Ratelle, Rod Gilbert and Brad Park. The CCM Custom Pro used by Ratelle has his number "19" written in black marker below the big center's original tape job on the knob, while vintage black bulldog tape was added over its cracked blade. "Gilbert" is stamped on the middle of the shaft of Rod's Sher-Wood Pattern Pro stick. His white tape jobs remain on the knob and on the blade, which has a slash cut on the front and a chipped top edge of the toe. "Park 2" is stamped below the worn white tape knob on the front of Brad's Sher-Wood, which has "Gerry Cosby & Co." stamped on both sides of the shaft. To note is an 8"-long crack, which runs along the middle of the shaft, and a crack along the heel which had vintage tape applied over Park's original black bulldog tape. An LOA accompanies Gilbert's stick.
