Rogatien Vachon's superb goaltending proved to be the biggest surprise on the stacked Team Canada squad that took the ice for the inaugural Canada Cup tournament in 1976. Rogie stole his share of the spotlight with two shutouts and a magnificent 1.39 GAA in seven games while playing behind an incredible defensive unit made up of tournament MVP Bobby Orr, Denis Potvin, Brad Park and the Montreal Canadiens' Big Three of Larry Robinson, Serge Savard and Guy Lapointe. The Los Angeles Kings netminder was named the tournament's all-star goalie and also claimed honors as Team Canada's outstanding player. Rogie's royal blue official team sports jacket has "Jack Fraser" tagging sewn on the lining over the inner right breast pocket while "R. Vachon" reads a tag on the inside of that pocket. A classy red velvet and golden thread "Team Canada Equipe" logo remains on the left breast pocket and maple leafs are featured on the jacket's gold-colored buttons, including two on the right cuff and one on the left cuff, which has a thread remnant from the other missing button. Also included is Rogie's official team tie with rows of Team Canada's red half maple leaf logo screened onto the tie's grey polyester fabric. Rogatien Vachon's signed LOA will accompany his official Team Canada coat and tie from the first Canada Cup.
