Named to play in the 1974 CFL All-Star Game in Ottawa, Alouettes tight end Peter Dalla Riva had to be replaced for the showcase game by Hamilton's Tony Gabriel. Dalla Riva's name remains sewn in individual red tackle twill letters onto the back of this jersey, which was used by Gabriel in the game after a white mesh patch was sewn over Dalla Riva's name and a cotton nameplate with "T. GABRIEL" in red heatpressed letters was sewn in place atop it. Gabriel, who went on to star for the Ottawa Rough Riders, gave the jersey to Dalla Riva after both players had retired. The white nylon mesh No. 74 jersey features red tackle twill numbers on the front and back along with two red twill stars sewn on either side, front and back, and large and small stars on both shoulders. A black, red and white CFL Players crest is sewn on each sleeve, both of which have been cut off just beneath the respective patches. A Southern Athletic size XL fly tag remains sewn in the neck. The jersey exhibits a nice friction burn below the "4" on the front. A stain on the large star on the left shoulder is to note. This unique CFL All-Star jersey with a story to tell comes along with Peter Dalla Riva's signed letter of authenticity.
