The remarkable artistry of renowned Montreal-based sports photographer Denis Brodeur is showcased in this sensational lot of 45 large prints of his original shots. Brodeur, the father of New Jersey Devils superstar Martin Brodeur, recorded innumerable memorable images of NHL hockey action as a Montreal Canadiens team photographer. He also shot iconic images of Major League Baseball's Montreal Expos, from the team's exciting beginning at Parc Jarry through the team's glory years at Olympic Stadium. Featured here are some of his most memorable pictures, including shots of Canadiens Hall of Famers Serge Savard, Guy Lafleur and Steve Shutt celebrating Stanley Cup victories. Among the prints that Brodeur signed include his famous photo of Montreal Mayor Jean Drapeau throwing out the first pitch prior to the Expos' National League debut at Shea Stadium in April 1969. Most of the photos included here are larger prints, 14" x 11" and some 20" x 16", some on foamboard backing and some laminated. A unique lot of great hockey and baseball photos, straight from one of sport's top shooters.
