Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Fantastic colors and an artist's rendition of Jackie Robinson grace the box top of this not-often-seen game made by New York's Gotham Pressed Steel Corporation in 1948. The all-metal game is approximately 14" square and features kid-controlled moving levers for the batter and pitcher. Still present here are eight small ball bearings, eight tiddlywinks (five green, three red) for runners and the partially mice-chewed rules. Also, a swell postcard-size photo that mirrors Jackie's image on the box has his facsimile autograph. EX condition game shows minimal wear, while the box is VG+ with one split corner. Terrific find and a wonderful display.
