This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Los Angeles Kings owner Dr. Jerry Buss presented this magnificent Marcel Dionne lithograph by artist Sheila Wolk to the Chicago Black Hawks as a gift from the hosts of the 1981 NHL All-Star Game. Dionne, Triple Crown linemates Dave Taylor and Charlie Simmer, and Kings goalie Mario Lessard played for the host Wales in a 4-1 loss at the Fabulous Forum to the Campbell All-Stars, who featured Bob Murray as the Black Hawks' lone representative. Wolk's 21 1/2" x 20" likeness of the Kings' Hall of Fame centre is hand-numbered 8 of 27 on the white matte border that includes the artist's signature on the right and the caption "Presented by Dr. Jerry Buss to Chicago Black Hawks 1981 NHL All-Star Game, February 10" in the middle. With water stains on the bottom part of the matte and puckering to note, this unique NHL All-Star Game gift is presented in its original 26" x 25" silver-colored metal frame and remains in very good condition overall.
