Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Crafted in Sterling silver, topped with a glistening layer of gold plating, this wonderful reproduction ring remembers Johnny Bower, George Armstrong, Frank Mahovlich, David Keon and that exciting era of Stanley Cup glory in the city of Toronto. The Leafs took the Chicago Black Hawks in six games at the close of the 1961-62 post-season to capture their first of three consecutive Stanley Cup victories. This fantastic bauble is designed in the classic style with a solitary man-made stone resting on a silver maple leaf at the center, surrounded by the words "Stanley Cup Champions". One side sports a raised image of the Cup while the opposite shank has "Toronto" and "62". A peek inside the band reveals the "925" assayer's marking for the silver content. Size 10.5 and in near mint condition.
