Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Always intriguing are NHL Standard Player's Contracts, with this one signed prior to the 1967-68 season between Paul Henderson and the Detroit Red Wings. It called for a salary of $20,750 and included several interesting individual and team performance bonus clauses. However, Henderson was part of the blockbuster trade that sent him and Norm Ullman to the Maple Leafs for Mahovlich, Unger and Stemkowski in March of '68. Henderson's blue ballpoint signature appears on the back of the document, beneath that of Wings' president Sid Abel, while league president Clarence Campbell penned his name in customary fashion on the front. Dated September 28, 1967 and in excellent condition.
