Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Unlike many countries in Eastern Europe, Lithuania isn't known as a hockey power. That changed in 1988, when 16-year-old Darius Kasparaitis made his debut with Dynamo Moscow, becoming the first Lithuanian to break into the league. This is Darius Kasparitis' game-worn CCCP jersey from the early 1990s. This style is correct for the period of 1990 to 1992 and could have been worn by Kasparaitis either at the 1990-91 or 1991-92 World Junior Championships or possibly the 1991-92 Mens Worlds. The Tackla tag has been cut out of the neck but the smaller size XXL label remains. Great game wear with over a hundred stick marks to go along with four stitched team repairs.
