Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
National Hockey League regular Doug Wilson wore this red mesh Team Canada uniform circa 1987, identical to the style worn by the National Team at the 1987 World Ice Hockey Championships played in Vienna, Austria. As Wilson does not show up on the roster for the tourney, we believe the shirt is most likely one made for him and worn briefly at the camp or games leading up to the Worlds. Wilson's familiar number "24" is in felt on each arm and again on the back with large AGFA sponsor patches sewn onto each shoulder. The mesh name plate above the back numbers holds single-layer white letters spelling out "Wilson". This one is tagged in the collar by Adidas in size XL and displays light game wear, consisting of a handful of smaller black stick marks.
