The long-mustached HOF'er Lanny McDonald potted 500 regular season goals throughout his career, but his final post-season goal was the sweetest! Lanny's last shot found the twine at the back of the net and captured the Flames their first Stanley Cup in 1989. This splendid home white CCM/Sandow combo boasts "McDonald" across the nameplate above his familiar number "9". The Sandow tags are there in the neck and a large screened CCM logo appears on the tail, marking this one as having been worn back in 1983-84 when the team switched from one maker to the other. This shirt is plastered with black stick marks on the front and arms and also sports a few unrepaired holes. The crest and numbers are crinkled from washing. These shirts usually have the Calgary 100th Anniversary patch on the left shoulder but the 1988 Olympic crest sits up there now. You can easily make out the outline of the former circular patch and we surmise that the team store added the current badge when it sold the jersey back in the day (collecting lore confirms this). Comes complete with a team letter of authenticity on Flames letterhead signed by Cliff Fletcher that does not pinpoint the year. [red]Addendum; Jersey is photo matched specifically to the mark in the white section on the hem on the left side and to a number of marks in the white section of the left sleeve.[/red]
