Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010

Brian Trottier was a driving force behind the New York Islanders' four-year Cup run during the early-1980s. This brilliant blue mesh sweater, worn circa 1981-82, bears the wear of the wars of winter. Eleven repairs can be found on the lower arms with another five on the body of the jersey. Stick marks, board burns and paint transfer swipes only add to the tale of the game use. The Sandow tag has been cut out of the collar but the company's screened logo is there on the outer rear hem. The white loop fight strap is in the tail and we spot very heavy pilling inside above the elbows. The nameplate appears to be original although the coloring is a bit off from the rest of the jersey. An excellent example, loaded with wear and repairs, from this 524-goal Hall-of-Famer.
