Swedish defenceman Tommy Albelin wore this Flames road jersey in 1997-98, the third of his six seasons in Calgary. The veteran of 18 NHL seasons won a Stanley Cup with New Jersey in 1995, and returned to the Devils to win his second Cup in 2003. Hall-of-Famer Lanny McDonald signed a letter of authenticity on Flames letterhead, which has "Calgary Flames Hockey Club 1997-1998 N.H.L. Season Red Jersey #1 of 1" screened in white on the inner rear hem. Albelin signed in black marker the top of the white, black and yellow twill No. 5 on the back of the jersey. A white and black twill alternate captain's "A" in the shape of the old Atlanta Flames logo is sewn onto the left breast. The jersey exhibits really nice use with great stick marks on the bottom of the jersey. There are four repairs on the right elbow and two repairs on the left that curiously form a "10" when viewed from the inside. The original fight strap and Maska laundry tag remain, along with the size 54 fly tag in the neck.
