Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Superstar sniper Alex Ovechkin delighted fans with his on-ice antics and trickery during the shootout competition at the 2009 NHL All-Star Weekend extravaganza held at the Bell Centre in Montreal. This CCM one-piece has special graphics on the shaft including a stylistic number "8" with "OVI" just below. Taped in white at the graphite blade with red gauze and cloth tape wrapping at the knob. The Pro Stock warning is there on the back of the shaft along with a painted "10115 Flex 75" marking in white. Peachy silver paint pen autograph down at the heel is a treat! Obvious signs of use on the blade tape. While this Alexander Ovechkin stick was prepared for use in the 2009 NHL All-Star Game in Montreal, we are unable to certify that it actually saw game action. Due to the fact that he used a variety of stick models over the course of the All-Star weekend, this Ovechkin stick remains an authentic weapon from the Russian star's arsenal that comes from an impeccable source. Obtained directly from the family of Vincent Lecavalier and will come with a letter of authenticity. Proceeds from this lot will go to benefit the Lecavalier Foundation.
