Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
This blue durene New York Islanders jersey first saw action during the 1973-74 NHL season. It then received a few changes when it was sent down to the CHL Fort Worth Texans, an Isles farm club, where it was recycled for the 1976-77 campaign. The tie-neck style is tagged in the collar by Rawlings in size 50 and the Islanders logo has been replaced by a blue canvas Texans crest with white and orange embroidery. Sixteen repair patches tell the tale of the game wear one this one, some of it from National Hockey League play and more from action down in the minors. We also spot evidence of a number change and a plate removal. A fine example from a frugal period in the game's history.
