Russia, an international hockey powerhouse throughout the Fifties and Sixties, took gold in both the 1964 World Ice Hockey Championships in Innsbruck, Austria and the 1967 Worlds held at Vienna, Austria. The 1964 tournament was actually held as part of the Olympic Winter Games and the three medal winners at that event were also named IIHF World Champions. The identical medals, each about 2.5 inches in diameter feature a sculpted goaltender and the year on the front with the logo of the International Ice Hockey Federation on the opposite side. Both medals are in excellent-plus condition.
