Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Fabulous international hockey memorabilia is this Team Canada jersey donned by Jim Watson in the first ever Canada Cup tournament. Watson was seriously injured in game 2 when he took a shot in the face from Team USA's Gary Sargent, suffering broken bones above and below an eye, knocking him out of the tourney. Remnants of an AK manufacturer's tag is in collar, while the right sleeve has two spots of dried blood, with more at the cuff. Significant red paint transfer is on each sleeve as on other jerseys from this set, with a few stick marks on the sleeves and light interior pilling (elbows) also noteworthy. This uniform is from the second set of whites that have reinforced elbows. Desirable jersey will come with an LOA and a Canada Cup of Hockey/76 book showing Watson bleeding.
