Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Jean Beliveau had plenty to celebrate in the spring of 1965 as he helped put the Montreal Canadiens back on top of the hockey world. Le Gros Bill has signed in silver sharpie this outstanding modern 14” x 11” print of a dressing room photo of the 1965 Conn Smythe Trophy winner gathered around the Stanley Cup with legendary Habs coach Toe Blake and team owner David Molson, with all three men grasping the silver chalice that had eluded the team’s grasp for five long years. A silver-colored plaque which reads “#4 Jean Beliveau, Montreal Canadiens” is set in the bottom of the black and white matte surrounding the photo, all displayed in a 22” x 18” black frame.
