An opportunity to acquire a complete set of Imperial Tobacco's coveted 1911-12 issue is one that does not occur often, with this attractive 45-card ensemble featuring some interesting qualities. We count 30 cards that are for the most part crease-free and VG, with slightly rounded corners, edge wear and light soiling as the flaws. Joe Malone (#16) and 25-Odie Cleghorn are among the group, some of which might make it to VG+, but we'd rather be on the conservative side. Leading the way condition-wise are 16-Lesueur and 27-Smaill at VG-EX. A notch or two below VG because of very minor paper loss (at a corner or two) are 1-Moran, 30, 31-Ross, 33, 40, 42-Lalonde and 45-Laviolette. Cards no better than G are #s 8, 24, 28 and 41 because of paper loss on the backs. The Cyclone Taylor card is graded Good 2 by SGC, while the rookie card of the legendary Georges Vezina is crease-free but has two "chipped" corners and soiling issues. We see it a G or G-VG at best. There is also a duplicate of Odie Cleghorn (VG) included Overall, very little scuffing, to go along with nice vivid colors, make for a set worthy of a Hall of Fame vintage cardboard shrine.
