Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
A very special one-of-a-kind Oilers offering here with this customized store model Edmonton "third" jersey that features "Hunter" and "72" sewn on the back. That would be for Oiler and co-WHA founder, "Wild" Bill Hunter, with the number representing the Oilers' first season. The numbers have been autographed by Hunter, Al Hamilton (first player signed, first captain), Ron Chipperfield (first NHL team captain), and Val Fonteyne, who signed in '72 and who had played for Hunter as a junior in the 1950s. Size XL jersey has "3" and "8" on the sleeves for Hamilton and Fonteyne. A certificate of authenticity will be included with this terrific one-of-one.
