The Ottawa Commandos took over the Quebec Senior Hockey League franchise of the Ottawa Senators (senior) in 1942-43 and, bolstered by top NHL talents Neil and Mac Colville, they won the Allan Cup Championship at the end of their first season. The Allan Cup Trophy has historically been the most important in Canada after the Stanley Cup. Engraving on the back of Hall-of-Famer Neil Colville's championship gold medal "Ottawa Commandos 1943, N. Colville". Stamped "Trophy Craft Golf Filled" on the back, the medal holds golden letters forming "Allan Cup CAHA" across a blue enamel field on the front below a sculpted player. In excellent condition.
