Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction June 2010
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 6/22/2010
Spectacular souvenir from the legendary Ace Bailey Benefit Game held in Toronto on February 14, 1934. The vintage copper medal was presented to Toronto Maple Leafs member Buzz Boll for his participation in the tribute match that saw the Toronto Maple Leafs pitted against the assembled stars of remaining teams from across the National Hockey League. The bronze memento is approximately 1 1/2" in diameter and is engraved "National Hockey League Toronto Maple Leafs - Feb. 14th 1934 - B. Boll." The special medals were donated by Leo Dandurand and given to each player prior to the game. A perfect memento, in near excellent condition, from what is considered to be the very first NHL All Star game.
